Government Grant Money For American Indians – Get Money to Further Your Education

It is time that the American Indian people receive some help financially from the country that their ancestors owned years ago.  If you are an Native American/American Indian and you or a family member are enrolled in a federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaskan Native village then you qualify for government grant money for American Indians.

If you have always dreamed of going to school but knew that your family could not afford to send you, then you must be sure to do proper research and find and apply for these unique grants.  There are many different grant opportunities for Native Americans/American Indians that are just sitting there and waiting to be used.  Some will help to pay for school while others will even  repay school loans that have already been incurred, as long as the guidelines are met.

Some of the loans are for the health-related fields, not a bum career but a very expensive education if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket.  Some are for pre-graduate programs and other graduate programs.  There is even a grant for those who wish to promote the American Indian and Alaska native arts.

If you are a Native American/American Indian and have always dreamed of having a different career, or if you are just beginning your adult years and want to pursue an education but lack the funds, make sure you search out these grants so that when you graduate you will not be spending many years paying back loans.

American Bandogge Mastiff breeders?

Question by Lady: American Bandogge Mastiff breeders?
Does anyone know of a *respectable* breeder for this particular breed? I looked online and found one horrible breeder who breeds a million different kinds of dogs at once, and also trains them to be agressive, also doesn’t do screening on potential homes. Hoping to find a GOOD breeder? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I’ve done quite a bit of research. I am a volunteer at a bully rescue and have talked to several people, also on-line and haven’t found a breeder yet who can back up the “talk” of having them with proof of some sort. Or they’re just plain idiots who are breeding dogs to just make money. So, again, anyone who knows of or have heard of a good breeder, pls and thnx =]
For starters, I love big dogs, and I was raised around AmStaffies, pitbulls, mastiffs all my life. I am also a lover of “rare breeds”. I first saw this dog about 7 months ago at one of the events we had done at the bully rescure where I volunteer and I guess you could say “love at first site”, but I know you can’t judge a book by its cover, so for awhile now I have been researching the breed and haven’t found a thing yet that disinterests me. I’m female, live alone, have 2 cats. I need/want a dog that will be able to protect my home if need-be. I know that these dogs demand a lot of respect from their owner and need a lot of training and attention and these are all things that I’m looking for also.
Yes! Boerboels was actually #3 on my list! (yeah, I’m a nerd, I have a list) haha. I would definately consider them, I like the fact that they don’t have too many health issues. Although they are known to have bad joints I believe. Anyway, I will keep you in mind- I didn’t mention I found a breeder but they’re in Italy. Not too sure how I feel about flying a pup over for many reasons but we’ll see if anything else comes up. Thank you spartan mike! =]

The AKC website is a good place to start when researching breeders.. You still need to check them out, verify their information, read your contract etc.. And it’s not a guarantee that they are good ethical breeders, but it’s a start.. Also you should check local breed clubs and ask them if they have suggestions.. Or people who have the breed you are interested, asking them where they got their dog, and if they are happy etc. RESEARCH!

American Bulldog x Presa Canario vs Tabasco sauce

this is my 10 month old 5 stone american bulldog/presa canario cross, Theo, being aggressive with an empty bottle of tabasco sauce, he obviously doesnt like the smell of the fumes, but wont leave it alone, like me, he does like the taste though, think it may be his favourite sauce!

Is the dam (the brindle) an American Akita or an Akita Inu?

Question by jcgonzmo: Is the dam (the brindle) an American Akita or an Akita Inu?
I contacted a breeder so that I could cross my dog (white with black) with one of his dams, and he came to my house with this dam (brindle). He told me she was an american akita (it had papers of certification). What do you think? American Akita or Akita Inu?
Note: I love her color, I would love to see how a mix of both colors would look on a puppy. Only if both are American Akitas.

I ask this question because there has been some people that saw the dog and said ” Its a nice Akita..” and some others that said “Are you sure that is an Akita?” So finally the doubt got me, even though the dog had papers.
I ask this question because there has been some people that saw the dog and said ” Its a nice Akita..” and some others that said “Are you sure that is an Akita?” So finally the doubt got me, even though the dog had papers.
This question is to see if the brindle Akita is american or not. My dog is 8 years old and was in some fights, as a result his ears fell. He is not a show dog, he is my pet. I ask a breeder and he agreed to do it, so I guess there was something right or acceptable with my dog. Please, limit your answers to tell me details of the BRINDLE akita.
Thanks for the answers, keep them coming. Please, detail what you see in the Brindle Akita that convince you that she is either American, Inu or a Mix.
Note: Currently I am reading Akita – Treasure of Japan, so I am a little bit picky. My options would be to buy from a new pet from a breeder, or find a breeder that will bring a dam to mate with the stud I own.
By no means I want to be poetic, but I do not understand how some people can talk about adopting dogs from shelters (were most are mutts) and at the same time criticize two adorable pets like the ones of the pictures. Even if the brindle Akita is an Inu and American Mix (which would make her an american akita for legal purposes) it is still a pure Akita. Some answers are plain dumb (like saying brindle is not an official color, or calling it a mutt, or mentioning BYB that has nothing to do because a breeder is involved in the process) but others are plain heartless (they bring nothing to the race, they are barely pet quality). HOW THE HELL can someone make those heartless comments about an innocent animal an at the same time suggest that adoption is better if the breed is not pure. Its plain Ilogic.

She looks American to me.

The only differences between American and Inu are the sizes and colors. American tend to weigh more and have darker coloring, while the Inu are smaller and tend to be lighter colors.
