Question by zuzy: Can a pure blood Australian Cattle dog be born with a bobbed tail?
I have a blue heeler and i was trying to determine if she was an Australian Cattle Dog or a cousin the Australian stumpy tail cattle dog.
She matches with the colors of the ACD has a black coat with motted white hairs, tanned at the legs and undersides up to the face, plain face w white marks on forehead and chest. fast!!!!!she can catch birds at flight but she was born with no tail!!!!!
it throws me off becasue ACD’s should have a tail..and according by color it doesn’t fit in the Stummpy breed either….
her parents are both black no tan whatsover but dad has tail mom doesn’t….
if any one knows help me..
thanks
i checked the pictures from the likn one of you gave me and the dark color dogs blck/gray look just like her parents. She look like the one on page 8 the last px on the top wolfweb.com.au

Can you send me a pic? I can tell…i’ve grown up around ACD’s. Some can be born with bobbed tails. My brother has a ACD/Border Collie mix and he was born with a bobbed tail…obviously this would come from the ACD side, not the Border Collie side. Hope this helps….also, could the breeder have docked her tail?
